Electronic Health Record and Patient Management Peter undertook an IT project audit of a major Electronic Health Record program in NZ, and implemented major changes to the way the program was being implemented which resulted in this failing program getting back on track. The recommendations were well received and resulted in changes to all project implementations within NZ’s second largest District Health Board. He also initiated a change management program to accompany the first roll-out of the system. Peter also headed up the Health Program for Qatar – initiating the governance, detailed strategic planning, and delivery of the first projects to accompany the Universal Electronic Health Record. He was also responsible for the procurement of a dedicated broadband network for Public Health Organizations. Education & Training Experience – Worldwide Peter’s involvement with Education & Training has been extensive. Most recently he was responsible for a national Educational Project Potfolio for Qatar. This included Learning Management Systems, e-Learning Resources for K-12 and for adults, and ‘schools of the future’ pilots. He was also responsible for the procurement of a dedicated broadband network for Schools. He has also set up and ran a major IT training centre in Kuala Lumpur for ICL and the Malaysian Government – The Pacific Regional training Centre. The centre was fully equipped with three mainframes and PCs and serviced the IT training needs of Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Brunei. He oversaw the development, accreditation and running of business and technical courses and events for management, project managers, systems analysts and Programmers. He also sat on the National Computing Centre UK examining board in Hong Kong for the examination of Systems Analysts. The institute gained the highest pass rate in the world for the NCC’s systems analysis examinations of 99%. Peter has helped many organizations across the Asia Pacific region understand IT better and more importantly how best to deploy IT for business benefit. He has conducted 2 year Programs for the NSW Public Service Board, Dept. of Aviation and RAAF as well as other events for the PNG and Hong Kong Governments, Departments of Customs and Excise, IRD (Tax Dept.) and various IT vendors and their clients. These included Senior Executive Programs in ITC and IS strategy, project management, communications, office automation, systems analysis, and sales etc. Peter qualified as a lecturer in the RN and worked for the Navy’s Programmed Learning Unit. |
